Portraits | Johnny Cash

In 1992, still fairly new in the game of photography, I met Johnny Cash backstage after an amazing concert with the Carter family at the Norwegian Wood Music Festival. Starstruck and with only minutes to shoot, this is all I got out of it before he headed out to the crowd that had gathered. Down to earth, folksy and unpretentious, he wanted to spend the time talking to the fans.
If you haven’t had your dosage of Johnny Cash today; pick up the American recordings and lean back. Thank you, Johnny.
